European Young Engineers - Shaping Europe Together

EYE is a European network of young engineering professionals and students sharing knowledge, fostering mobility and developing personal and professional skills.

How EYE started

Europe view and feeling is growing together faster and faster, the enlargement towards Eastern Europe and the Baltic is approaching. For the engineering profession this results in many challenges: changes in engineering education, the necessary higher mobility in Europe (and going abroad), mutual recognition of diplomas and professional experiences, but also the knowledge society itself. Confronted with increasing international co-operation in their professional engineering projects, young engineers need to be better prepared for the European market. National engineering associations can only partly give an answer to those questions and give support to their members, especially their students and young engineers.

Consequently young members of the European engineers' organisations created a European platform and founded the European Young Engineers (EYE) in 1994. During the following years several engineering associations in Europe were invited to join and EYE rapidly grew to its present size.

EYE Today

EYE is a dynamic and rapidly growing organisation with enthusiastic members, presently consisting of 18 associations and representing more than 150.000 young engineers in Europe. EYE offers its member organisations and their  students and young engineers the access to a Europe-wide network by linking the engineering associations.  More member associations are also expected to join in the near future.

  • EYE offers conferences two times a year, each one bringing together between 80 and 300 participants from all over Europe.
  • The EYE Information System is the informal meeting place of the European Young Engineers. Everybody interested in sharing experiences and in supporting EYE may register and enter his/her data.
  • EYE-Contact, the journal of the European Young Engineers, contains short articles about subjects of interest for European young engineers.
